NJBiz Magazine Names Appliedinfo CEO Betty Lau Among New Jersey's Most Influential Women

Appliedinfo CEO Betty Lau has been recognized for her company's contribution to the state's economic growth and for her entrepreneurial spirit in transforming the company.  Ms. Lau was among twenty five business and civic leaders honored as New Jersey's Women of Influence by NJBiz Magazine.  The recipients were selected from over one hundred nominations.

NJBiz recounted how Ms. Lau founded the business in 1990 with her husband, President John Lau, and how they have since transformed the company from a software application developer to a technology, media and marketing consultancy today.  In the profile, Lau contrasted the company's humble beginnings with its status today. "In the beginning," she said, "we were really struggling.  Now we have a competent staff in place and we watch the business grow.  And our kids are in college so we don't have to worry about them.  At this point, it's almost fun!"

This year's Women of Influence represent a diverse array of industries and organizations.  Other honorees include New Jersey Commerce And Economic Growth Commission CEO Virginia Bauer, President and COO of ERA Franchise Systems Brenda Casserly, President of Bank of American New Jersey Ann Limberg, and Rutgers University Women's Basketball Team Head Coach C. Vivian Stringer.
