AIP Helps Fujifilm Launch Asia Trail

SOMERSET, NJ – Working with long-time client Fujifilm, D2 Creative, the integrated communications arm of Appliedinfo Partners, Inc., has developed a spectacular new website (http://zootour.fujifilmusa.com/index.jsp) for the Fujifilm Giant Panda Habitat and Asia Trail exhibits at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, DC. The site spotlights the zoo’s two giant pandas, Mei Xiang and Tian Tian, whose presence at the zoo was made possible by a grant from Fujifilm. The site also presents seven endangered animal species and teaches how the zoo’s scientific advancements and research are making a difference for these animals and others around the world.

Developed in Macromedia Flash, the Web site features exciting animated graphics plus an interactive audio tour hosted by actress Dakota Fanning. In developing the site, D2 Creative worked closely with Fujfilm and its other partners to create a site that is visually exciting, and highly tactile. Visitors can follow the Asia Trail by simply dragging a mouse over a map of the exhibit, and can stop at any point along the way to learn about a particular animal.

According to Adam Yates, Fujfilm Director of Corporate Communications, D2 Creative was the natural choice to create the Asia Trail website. “We’ve always looked to them for innovative design and development of our websites, and they’ve come through in a big way for us,” Yates said. “We’ve gotten tremendous feedback on the site, which is exciting from a content standpoint and has a wonderfully rich look and almost tactile interface.” Yates notes that D2 has also developed the imaging company’s main USA website and numerous key sites for specialized areas. D2 also created the Fujifilm intranet site, “The Green,” as well as communications programs related to Fujifilm’s ongoing environmental efforts.

John Lau, President of Appliedinfo Partners, Inc., notes that the company is excited to work with Fujifilm and other clients on public service-minded projects. “We are honored to be part of this fantastic effort on Fujfilm’s part.” Lau said, “We deeply respect Fujfilm’s commitment to the environment, and are always happy to work with them to help transform that commitment into action.”
